Picking up a L3301 and RCR2660

Will be picking up a L3301 HST with R4 tires and RCR2660 rotary cutter next week. The cutter had to be ordered.

Will be adding a quick hitch, filled rear tires and 3rd function.

Don't forget to change your profile! The L3301 is an excellent tractor for learning how to tractor on, and a great chore machine full stop. I've had mine almost 3 years now. I have my complaints, but it was as much tractor as I could afford at the time and it's done things I would have never thought of even trying without it, as well as making formerly back-breaking jobs simple.

Get the rear tires loaded & always make sure you have proper ballast on the 3pt if you are using the loader. It's a good machine, but a little light in the back end.

This. I almost always run out of traction before power, the standard Ls are all very light for their HP, barring maybe the L2501.

Also, the pucker factor is definitely there on slopes. I don't consider my hills anything amazing, but it can get not fun in a hurry if you're not careful.

Yes, I am having the rear tires loaded with water/antifreeze.

This is my first tractor of my 53 y.o. life.

Congratulations.
You will be glad that you have it, and wonder how you got by without it. Just a word of caution though; tractors are a serious addiction. Before long you will "need" a backhoe or a chipper, then a tiller; and all those things really should be under cover so you will need a building to keep them in.
And we are all very helpful at spending other people's money...

I decided to go with R1 Ag tires after talking with an older fellow who has been running tractors for 30 yrs. He said R1 tires will shed mud better thereby getting better traction. Since I will be running in the woods mostly I decided this is the way to go. He also said that in 30 years he's had 2 flats.
I also decided to get a SGC0660 Claw grapple.

Tractor and attachments finally arrived today.

First thing I did was detached the grapple and forget to undo the two hydraulic hoses and dragged it a few feet before I remembered. Slight hydraulic leak at on the fittings now.

Other than that I ran the rotary cutter a bit. Tomorrow I will put the tractor to work hauling dead limbs and dead trees.

I suggest you repair that asap. It's only going to get worse with time, and your tractor makes over 2000 PSI, so it could really let go if not addressed promptly.
