Jaylegger-- as an update: the inner tube sleeve is still holding up and still working well, after several sessions with wet snow due to our roller-coaster temps this winter. No more frozen linear actuator, thanks again!

That's great to hear. I gave up on the corrugated bellow experiment despite finding a local supply for the option I last posted about as I realized there was no need, the inner tube thing was perfect for the situation.
Sometimes Occam’s razor is correct in that the simplest solution is not only sufficient but appropriate.

And as another update -- worked flawlessly for the remainder of last winter, and so far it's had one session of VERY wet snow (to the point of clogging), and still no problems whatsoever!

Thanks AGAIN for a great solution, Jaylegger! :cool2: :proposetoast:

Hey, thanks for the note. Mine has been going on 3-4 years now and haven't had any issues with the actuator since. Prior to the inner tube boot the actuator froze up continually and had to replace once due to water ingress/freezing and the problems that caused.

What about a grain drill drop tube?

Just for reference the blower on my 1736 came with a Linak electric actuator, see attached pictures.

That's the excat same one I have on by B2782B Blower.

It has malfunctioned.

I can hear it trying, but it won't move.

I thought I saw water coming out of it too.

Where do you suggest I get a new one to match this one?

Or... is there some trouble shooting I can try?

Thanks !

That's a totally different actuator than what the older MF SCUTS used, but try taking it off and bring it inside (or use a hair dryer on it in situ). If it moves after it's warmed up, you've got water in the gearbox that's frozen.
