Increasing fuel capacity

Just keep using what you have and doing what you are doing. Go out every 5-6 hours and refuel, check temp guage and anything else. We have run tractors continuously for 100 hours on generator and swapped out tractors so we could change oil and such.

yep, one of my friends is a chicken grower, and when the power went out for an extended period he would run his tractors for 100 hours at a stretch into the 3pt generator. The limiting factor is the oil change. It sure racks up lots of hours quickly on the tractor, but it is what he had to do.

I have a 1 hp pump in a 468 foot well... My 6.5 k genny does not even bog when pump starts....

Household & Office; Running Wattage; Starting Wattage

Pump, Well, 1 HP 2000 4000
Pump, Well, 1 - 1/2 HP 2500 5000

I'm glad your generator can handle it, mine doesn't worry about well either,
even if the boiler and air handler are running and the oven is cooking my supper,
and I could even be doing laundry and running the electric dryer at the same time.
Different strokes for different folks,
you like what you have, I like what I have.

After a couple generator runs, you may find the unloaded diesel uses WAY less than 1 gallon per hour,,
the 7.4 gallons may actually run the generator for 10 hours,, or more,,

My 41HP John Deere (Yanmar) uses way less than 1 gallon per hour pulling a 72" rear finish mower.

A few light bulbs, and an occasional toilet flush should be less load than a 6 foot mower,,,
