In the market for a Ventrac

He mentioned 2 acres of lawn and 5 acres of woods where he wants to use the tractor (it's not a tractor) as well. Personally, I wouldn't want a Ventrac or Steiner type machine for working in woods, clearing/building trails, moving wood, etc... but maybe he isn't going to use it for those tasks. Who knows? But I wouldn't want a tractor, either.

More information on the intended use is needed. It really doesn’t look like a good fit for a Ventrac on the surface.

I have had all three plus a worthless tractor. Zero turn is a flat land thing, that is a dedicated mower. A tractor is ok if you like not mowing the edges and running over it before you mow it. A loader that won't pick up much unless the tractor is so heavy it tears up your yard. and if you use the three point get use to running around looking backwards. The PT sucks cutting grass , rips up the yard with the rear wheels on the deck and cheap blades held on with a 3/8 bolt. but on the bucket, it out work and out dig any tractor close to it in size. Plus many other great attachments. It is lame in hill climbing power or traction. Best hop on a Ventrac, it is pretty good at everything except the little slip scoop but it wasn't made to dig that much, just carry stuff like mulch, stone, crushed brick and fire wood. The boom mower sure looks nice but $$$. Snow blade it will flat plow snow and I hear the snow blower is good plus the broom and you sure see a lot of them mowing at the golf courses around here and schools.... jim

You better send my Grasshopper a postcard or something and tell it it’s supposed to suck on hills. It hasn’t got the memo. I mowed that hill in post 10 with it. The 3 point hitch is an ancient tool that needs improvement but a lot of implements work better on the back.

That slip scoop is most excellent for mulching.

Ventrac offered a 3pt hitch on their 4500 machines. I click on their link for it and it says it's discontinued.

Would like to know why they discontinued it.... did it not work well? Or have they come to the same conclusion as I have that 3pt implements SUCK!
