There’s plenty of implements that work better pulling vs pushing. There’s plenty of implements that have to be pulled so you end up driving backwards with a front mounted one. A better 3 point hitch like on my Kubota Grand series only takes a couple minutes to change. They make adapters to reduce that time. For occasional use implements 3 point hitch is a lot cheaper. And using both ends of the machine is nice. I used my box blade and loader implements at the same time frequently. I agree the 3 point hitch is an old design that could be better but rear mounted implements don’t deserve all the hate they get.

Maybe they have changed part numbers, or only offer it on one or another model. Worth calling the factory to make sure.

Yes, I'm only partially serious that 3pt implements suck. Box blades with rippers, dirt plows, etc... work well on a 3pt.

But consider this...
I can take the PT425 out to a job and take as many implements as I want and not even blink an eye making 40-50 implement changes in a day.

I’ve never felt the need to swap a 3 point implement more than a few times a day. I do swap the front SSQA implements frequently especially on a skid steer. Having an implement a on both ends really reduces the need to swap. I think we can all agree the 3 point hitch could use a rear design but completely getting rid of rear mounted implement isn’t the best plan. I also agree that compact tractors aren’t a very well designed tool, but I’ve ran skid operated compact loaders although bigger than the PT and skid steers and I wouldn’t rate them either one as a replacement for compact tractors.

I've had maintenance days at the church or Little League where we do a lot of different tasks that require multiple changes throughout the day. Such use a ripper to break up hard packed baseball diamond infield surfaces, drop the ripper, pick up a bucket, move the spoils, drop the bucket, pick up the ripper, repeat. Drop the ripper, pick up the forks, move some telephone poles, go back to ripping/moving. Stop to move some pallets. Go back to ripping. Stop to move some concrete pads with the forks. Go back to ripping. Stop to move moondust. Repeat. Stop to mow a diamond.... wouldn't it be nice if the other volunteers would all show up at scheduled times and days?

It's kind of comical when you own a PT, at how you actually look forward to implement changes, compared to avoiding it with a 3pt. The QA really makes the machine that much more efficient.

It's all about the tasks you want to accomplish, and how many machines you want to maintain. In our case, we have no use for 3pt implements. We mow, brush cut, haul with the bucket, lift with the forks, plow the snow, and pull firewood out of the woods. That's about it. I might add a tiller sometime in the future, as my walk-behind tiller is only about 18" wide. The tiller, I'd have to use in reverse. But I can apply power down with the FEL arms, and raise and lower without having to look over my shoulder, so I consider that a plus. I also might add a snow blower in the future (I don't need one, but if one comes along cheap, I'll grab it and convert to hydraulic). Snowblower on FEL arms sounds way better than having to use one behind me on a 3pt.
Stump grinder? Out front.
Trencher? Out front.

I'd also add that hydraulically powered implements are so much easier to hook up than shaft driven implements and belt driven implements.

With the tractor you could have the ripper on the back while driving forward to use it and have the bucket on the front cutting your implement changes down considerably. The trencher you’ll have to drive backwards to use. The stump grinder is too expensive IMO to be of any use. I know what you mean about the volunteers. Our church pretty much gave up and just hire it done. The local sportsman club tries to operate on volunteers but it’s about 10 guys doing all the work.

Depends on the model.

World's only 45 degree slope mower....
TSM Class

I want you to use one in your yard, the 425 is a yard machine and the old 422 I had was the same machine only 22 hp. I replaced the wheel motors to increase the torque and replaced the engine for more power and it was still a lame duck on the hills...... jim

I selected the 4500P machine that the OP was considering, then clicked on the 3 point hitch 70.4100-99 THREE-POINT HITCH FACTORY, and got this... Ventrac 7.41-99 Three-Point Hitch Factory

which says it has been discontinued.
That is for the older models not the 4500 series. they don't even look like that, look at the new 3 point Jack posted and see the difference.... jim
