Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Many times I have contemplated the wisdom of putting a front snow blower on my 4410. I've questioned whether a blade on the fel and a rear blower would have been better.

The other day it was time to clear snow so once again take the loader off and attach the snow blower for the first time this season.

Now I'm thinking why did I question my choice. I had so much fun and was done in so little time compared to the fel. Yes it's a bit of a pain to change everything around if I need the loader but it's so much fun blowing snow with a front mounted snow blower.

I currently use a offset rear blade but am thinking of moving to a front blade. Wondering if a frame mounted unit vs a loader arm mounted would be better and less stress on the loader? Anybody have issues with having an angled front blade putting side force stress on the loader arms?

I have a John Deere 990 and am also looking for pictures of a frame mounted plow set up if anybody has a similar set up.

What is the recommended blade size for a 35-40 hp tractor? Most used for 4-12 snowfalls.

I have the JD 4300 (32 hp) that I fab'd a frame mount for a 7' Western plow blade (and think it could handle 7-1/2' just as well). Has worked very, very well and is a pretty quick mount to install. Attaches to the front weight bar using the belly mower plates and two bolts through the weight bar to fasten and hold the plow hitch.

I mounted a 78" jeep plow on the FEL of my old 17 HP Kubota B7200. It worked well for 5 years before I broke some welds plowing a wet 20" snowfall. Since then, I've used several 7' and 8' FEL plows on my Kubota L3010, L3430, L6060 ans MX5800 with no problems.

In the snowbelt! Lol

That痴 why I知 considering a PTO snowblower but I have 4/10 of a mile to clear on gravel.
.

I had to put on my blower the other day to make some room in the spots where my road is "cut in" like a ditch, just no way to move it up steep banks. Blowing is so slow for regular clearing and I make out pushing the banks back with the tractor in some areas, then I break out the SS in the wooded areas pushing it back with a plow on it. It's maneuverability allows it to push it off 90* to the road. I have over a mile of roads on my place I keep open that just one "tool" will not do it all.

Wow what a nice collection of snow weapons everyone has, amazing the amount of time and what we spend on moving the white stuff only for it to all melt away in the end. Sure is fun though braving sub zero wind chill and of course the heart stopping exhilaration when your man made blizzard blows you straight in the face. Feels just as warm as liquid Nitrogen. My poor mans heated cab is wearing my motor cycle helmet with full face shield.

My 84" Woods snow blower on a 35HP tractor in action followed by my 3 Y/O Grandson dog sledding up and down the drive.
Good thing the gate was closed, who knows how far my dogs would have taken him.
