Been real slack posting, but I have been busy the last few weeks. We're getting ready to have another carport brought in and put up. This one will be for the travel trailer to go under. The spot we're putting it, had a big pine tree. 75' tall, 32" across the stump. We got it cut down, then started limbing and using the tractor/
chipper to take care of the limbs up to 4".
I did find out that even cut into 12' lengths, my XG3025 with it's 1600 lb lift capacity on the loader won't budge the bottom two pieces....LOL after some research, I've learned that white pine 32" diameter weighs 201 lb per ft, so that's right at 800 lb over lift capacity. I can roll them out of the way though. there's a local guy with a sawmill who says he wants them and can winch them onto his trailer, so he's supposedly coming to get them.
Then earlier this week, I had a guy come in with a stump grinder and take out that stump and a couple of others while he was here. First time watching that and I was IMPRESSED! I was going to rent one and do it myself, but he was less than the rental would have been, and done in a couple hours. Then I got to play on the tractor cleaning the mess up and building my mulch pile.
Then Wed, I had a load of asphalt millings brought in and I spread it where the camper is going. Yesterday, I serviced the lawnmower getting ready for spring, oil and filter changes, blades sharpened, grease job. Greased the tractor, blew out the air filter, checked all the fluids. I will say that if you have an air compressor, and DON'T have an air grease gun GET ONE! I just bought one of the cheap ones at HF and I am wondering why in the world I haven't had one of these already! Also, here's a heads up for you, if you break off a grease zerk, it's a 10 mm with the 1.0 pitch on the threads....and they are the devil to find....
finally, today I got around to doing something I have wanted to do ever since I got this thing and hooked up a 3 pt implement the first time. I took OFF the blamed PTO guard. With back and shoulder problems, dang near impossible for me to reach in there to hook/unhook. Yeah yeah, I know, it's a safety thing. Don't care, it had to come off.
I have tons of pics, but it's late, I'm worn out and me and the dog are ready for bed....actually he's already sleeping in my lap and me trying to type, LOL
