Just left the bank with the check for the agreed upon price for a new Kioti DK4510, $22000 w/ FEL no other options.

After some calling around and searching this site the price seem right, but this is my first new vehicle purchase and I want to make the salesman earn his check. Small town dealer in Maine that ordered in the tractor for me.

That being said we have a three day right to reneg here in Maine and I'm willing to walk away without handing over the check.

What do you guys think I can get fromore them. They are loading all four tires and attaching a reversible blade in the FEl. At very least I'm hoping to get these free, but I'm wondering if you guys think I could get more. Maybe throw in a pallet fork?

Nope, not touching this. You negotiate with a dealer, that's fine.

You're planning on leaving them high and dry with a machine they ordered in on your word, after they told you how much it would be, if they don't give you free "extras". That's the worst attitude toward how to treat a purchase I think I've ever seen.

I guess I'm not getting it either.
Dear/buyer agreed upon a price. Now buyer expects "extras" free after agreed price???

I've seen this before, customer puts a seller in a pinch where it's not a question of losing money, it's a question of how much. I hope this small town dealer can tell "halfway homestead" to go pound sand, but many small businesses can't have unexpected inventory sit.

If you have your tires filled by someone else, it is about $500. Not sure of the blade. I told my dealer up front what I wanted on my tractor and to give me his best price. He gave me his price and it seemed fair. I said ok, I like it but I want you to install the stereo and 4 led lights that I will buy but labor is free.. He said ok as long as he got my OEM lights that were on it. We made the deal. I would never have the dealer order a tractor after agree price and then try to change the deal unless I found something terrible wrong with it.

I've always had the impression that the citizens of Maine are honest, trustworthy people of good character.

Mr. Halfwayhomestead has called into question this judgement.

Alright everybody take a breath. As a brief follow up I didn't mean to come across as crooked I just havent done a major purchase like this before and wasn't sure how they go. It's a lot of money to me and I've worked hard to get this far.

Dust settled and I handed over the check for the tractor and paid cash for nice pallet forks, loaded tires and a reversible blade for fel. $1300 in extras.

Like I said, I'm new to this and didn't know what to expect. Glad you guys set me straight, that's why I asked. We really pretty solid people up north here.

Glad you did the right thing and followed through. It's important to remember the deal isn't just about the initial purchase and getting the machine home. It's also about building a good relationship with the dealer in case you have a warranty issue, need parts, or just have other questions. You want the dealer to be willing to go to bat for you against a manufacturer if needed and pulling back would certainly be a good way to make the dealer not care so much to help you in the future.
