Hi
I bought a Ford 1920 about 18 months ago and it now won't disengage the PTO clutch, which is clearly a common problem. I have read a bunch of posts about this and we want to try to access the adjustment bolts through the access hole on the side of the transmission as described in the workshop manual - and several past posts - before deciding whether we need to split the tractor and replace any clutch parts but the mechanic is struggling to find the access.
The tractor is fitted with a cab and a front end loader, and I can see at least one passing reference in posts on this topic to the loader mounting plates obstructing the access hole - can anyone who has a tractor without a loader possibly upload a photo showing exactly where he should be looking? He says he thinks he can see what looks like the edge of a rubber cover but doesn't think the hole is going to be big enough to put a wrench through to adjust anything...
