For $10K or less I’d recommend a used John Deere 750/850/950 series. Built in Japan by Yanmar they’re bullet proof with high parts availability. Would be good for 10 acres or less. If going new I’d recommend a Kubota L2501HST but you won’t get one for $10K.

Here is a $5,500, 4-WD John Deere 750 thirty-five miles from Arlington.

My first tractor was a John Deere/Yanmar 750. Excellent machines. Easy to work on.

At that price budget I'd look for a 35-45 PTO HP 2wd utility, MF 135 etc, 13.6-28 or 14.9-28 ag tires, diesel, live PTO, 3pt etc. That will play with all your jobs, be cheap and easy to repair and get parts for. Small enough to go in a regular car garage too. You may even get one with a loader.

Only thing on your list it might not do fantastic would be finish mow, but you can do that with a riding mower which is likely going to be the same price as a decent 3pt finish mower.

Sounds like someone wants the best of everything but isnt willing to pay for it :) You are just going to be disappointed one way or another. That parts availability costs dealers and manufacturers investment and capital. When you buy a brand with great parts availability you have to remember that is a portion of the cost passed on to you. The expectation by the consumer being when they need a part it will be easier to obtain. If you go with something that isnt local and doesnt have a US parts network then you need to be ok with waiting or doing extensive research to source it.

Most here would recommend a good used machine from a reputable manufacturer with a great parts network in the US. Getting a good single owner used machine is also a feat. You need to be patient, well researched, and ready to jump on a good opportunity. Sources include local auctions, Craigslist, classifieds, the coffee shop, ag stores, ag organizations, Tractorhouse, and maybe even putting the word out to a few dealers.

If you dont already know a lot about tractors....start learning as you can be taken advantage of in the used market. It may take you a year or so, but you will find the right used machine.

You have to give somewhere. If not your wallet then your time.

Very well said and a 10k budget really narrows the scope and puts you onto something either really small and or has a lot of age on it, which doesnt mean thats bad, thats a reality.. I wouldnt understate the foreign tractors either spec wise and quality wise most tend agree they are pretty close or even better at times. Parts is one thing and you and others have a point, but you are also paying a royalty to a color of paint to an extent, but when you build a brand you can do that and people pay for it, is it worth it, I dont think you can say yes, but you can say it is worth it to the buyer. The other reality is a lot of these foreign made tractors are supplying parts to build the orange and green ones, thats another truth.

In my own search I have to balance budget with needs, with getting the best product that can be fixed by somebody.

There should be plenty of them out there. A good condition MF 235 /245 or Ford 2/3/4000 will run about $5,000 give or take some for condition. I saw a really nice MF 245 sell recently for $6,500 and it was a one owner, 650 hrs and always parked indoors.

It really depends on what the OP wants out of a tractor. I personally wouldn't go Chinese because the quality just isn't there and the parts availability is shaky. On top of that, a $10,000 Chinese tractor will be worth $2,500 in a couple of years. An older utility tractor will cost $5,000 and still be worth $5,000 in 5 years. As long as they are kept up they will not depreciate much if at all.
