Hi,

So this is slightly off topic, but figured I'd ask.

We have a facebook page, facebook.com/discounthydraulichose

and an Instagram account : @discounthh

On the facebook account I mostly post silly memes, but have started to post news articles that i think might be relevant to our customers, we don't really post about our product.

Is the TBN community active on facebook? Do any of ya'll "like& follow " us on Facebook- if so what do you think of our content?

On Instagram i try to keep fresh content from around the office, warehouse and tradeshows, usually sticking to interesting product shots and deviate from that formula in the stories feature.

Does anyone on TBN use Instagram, and does anyone follow us @discounthh ?

With all of this in mind, is there anything that we could do on either platform that would be of benefit or interest to the TBN community?

I’d end up dead or divorced or both if I ventured into FB or IG. I get in enough trouble on TBN.

I know the Mahindra owners have something on FB. They may be worth looking up.

Facebook is a slippery slope- old girlfriends and weird dudes from high school galore, but instagram is a really great way to waste time! I follow a bunch of carpenters and dry wall guys and am amazed at the level of skill some of this guys show off. Also tons of great companies - with small budgets showing off really neat product, cool machinery pics, all in all , I've had some really great experiences on IG.

Social media like facebook has so much WRONG.... Facebook only shows latest posts to original, and many comments are not shown unless you go back and open them up....My preference is forums like here where I can scan different sections and also search with relative ease... Facebook and Instagram is for kids who have needs to stay "connected"... I mostly visit forums where there is intelligence not just social connections...

I signed in/logged on to FB a while back. Couldn't figure out how it worked, didn't want to spend the time to find out how. I unsubscribed. My new smart phone has all the socializing I need.

I don't use Facebook because of the tracking they do. They build a database of everyone you communicate with, track your non FB browsing and even record messages you compose but don't send. Then they monkey with the stuff they send you to try to keep you hooked, often sending content that gets you wound up. I don't need any of that.

I'll look at Instagram every once in a while but usually only following links. It's poorly laid out for browsing.

With any social media presence you need to keep it up with interesting posts. A stale presence is worse than no presence.

Personally, for me, I mostly use facebook, to keep in touch with friends overseas and so my mother and mother-in-law can see pictures of my kids.

Yes , forums are an incredibly valuable resource with intelligent people giving sound advice, where as facebook is a wasteland of narcissism.

I really enjoy instagram, becuase the content is always fresh and changing and people don't take themselves as seriously as they do on facebook- the comments are more easily glossed over, and the highly visual presentation is gratifying.
Yes, all of the world is in fact watching you, and tracking you , from your credit card purchases to your cell phones GPS, it's not just Facebook... but i've found some of the behind the scenes tracking of my activities, has actually helped my life...
Of course content is king, I try to keep the instagram fresh and interesting, and if you give us a follow on IG, I'm ceratain you'd agree, and if you don't , tell me about it!

Addendum to above post: For me facebook is only for local items of public interest like community politics and yard/garage sales and public notices........ Most of the national news and ad's on FB I ignore as garbage, many ad's seem to be scrams posted buy people who have poor understanding of English language or blatantly scream scam, and get tiresome sorting through all the political "free speech" rhetoric that is so much garbage.... And then there are ad's like "get all this for $9.99", and its a $1800 dollar retail unit.... You can put your ads up there but I probably wont see them.... OH yes there some corporations that have legitimate ads and "brand" names well known, but then again I am probable already familiar with corp. so product ad is usually not relevant for days I am on facebook.... Usually do business from cooperate webpages that advertise products I want, usually found from or by recommendation from people on places like TBN and Google Search and "trusted sites" about what my interests are ..... And the is so many services, Facebook, Instagram, tic toc, Pinterest (SP?) and so on, to many for me, that is why I stay with one service that has pages that just supports my local community......

Yeppers.... Actually have a "FB news feed eradicator" extension for my browser....
