Sorry about the wacky characters again. Forgot to skip the contractions.

Don't think John Deere ever had any power shifts in their line up. The John Deere 850 also had the 3t80 engine as does the 2610.

Haha

As for that one I am not sure if there would be one? The 10 means it's powershift.
I can't exactly remember, and Deere uses some random nameing scheme so it's hard to know unless you look it up, but I would just venture to guess maybe a 1050? But there were not many Deere/yanmars. Not like the yanny line at least.

Yes, I remember the same as Winston....I don't remember any JD powershifts, and powershift is a major difference in the 2610. For some reason, JD didn't get the powershift tranny in their tractors, although when Yanmar started making tractors for JD, Yanmar had been selling the candy-apple red powershift models in the US for about 8 years.

Back when the JD thing happened, It wasn't as though Yanmar started rebadging/painting their current tractors for JD. The green machines for JD looked more like the older discontinued Yanmar line - which were the lime-green painted tractors from Yanmar before they brought out their candy-apple red tractors. Most of those older limegreen Yanmar had standard gear transmissions and that is what JD got.
So the JD tractors got all the current engine upgrades, and a better power steering, but the older standard transmission.

If I had to pick tractors that come closest to the YM2610 it would be the JD850 for the engine and the Yanmar YM276 for the transmission - but it wouldn't surprise me if very few parts directly interchange.

One thing I wonder about is that although the classic Yanmars are legendary for their reliability, the JDs don't seem to share that quality. I wonder why?

Spalding said the 850 was the ym2500 closest match to it when we bought it. Eng. wise. My Ym2000 came from him also. The 5 gear PtO. on the 2500 was Crazy.
I just ran into Eng. info. The Ym240 is or has a 24Hp. Motor. T2R20A. Okay but look at the YM2000 Specs. Motor with a T2R20. 20Hp..
I actually have a T2R20A-A So the -A is there for something. How easily it handles any of my Attachments there isn't much doubt it's a Hp. upgrade. IMO.. I think I have seen T2R20A-A on here 1 time which was here in Ga. also.
Tractor Data.com says JD.850 @ 25Hp. and then the YM 2500 @ 27Hp. 2610 @ 30 Hp. JD.950 @ 31Hp.

The motor in our YM2000 is also a 24 hp motor. It's just 20hp at the PTO.

No there saying Eng. Hp. clearly Twice. Under the Eng. Spec. and on the tractor Model.

T2R20A, T2R20A-A, T2R20A-X are all the same engine with minor differences. Dipstick moved to the opposite side etc. The engine tag for the US ones (YM240) says 24 hp, that's the naked engine on a test stand per the US rating method, so the customer can compare this against other US tractors advertised by that method.

YM2000 with the same engine has a tag that says 20 hp, that's the PTO output figure that the customer in Japan needs to know, to match his tractor to a specific rototiller.

YM240 is the same tractor as YM2000 with very minor differences to conform to American expectations - pull the throttle lever to slow down etc.

My ym2000 engine tag also says 24 hp . It also says 20hp at PTO I believe? I can take a pic later today.
