Outside on a rotten pallet, the rain wash them.

I think you should store them in your freezer so they stay used to cold temperatures. (I don't do this though, I just hang them on a hook)

Yeah, that thermocycling is hard on them... metallurgically speaking.

Well I just dropped mine off the tractors this weekend, they are in a pile on the lawn till some of the mud gets washed off them, then I'll put them in a small barrel.
Also swapped out the studded snows for the summer tires on my pickup and my wifes car so I'm waiting for a heck of a April storm now.

What a neat tractor! If they had tractor demolition derby's, I'd bet yours would come out unscathed.

Dont know about that but I can drive through the woods without having limbs hitting me and on a cold day thats a good thing. I just cant understand how people work in the woods with their farm tractor and not get a branch side the head without a screen for protection.

My tractor chains get stored in a plastic milk crate in my garage, close to where I'll be when I put 'em on or take them off. Those sucka's are heavy! Enough ventilation in the crate so that any moisture that's on them dries up quickly.

ATV chains hung on a hook in the woodshed.

Who says we don't?
I do have some trees on the property that are thorny...I make sure I stay clear of them!
