2009 Kubota RTV 900, 2009 Kubota B26 TLB & 2010 model LS P7010
Looking at my hours and maintenance schedule, looks like I need to change hydraulic fluid in both my Kubota B26 and RTV900. I knew I didn't want to pay Kubota dealer price for the UDT oil, so I got some premium universal hydraulic oil that is stated to equal Kubota UDT for $17 per gallon. No one seems to carry 5 gallon cans any more, at least not Atwoods or TSC (TSC had no premium hydraulic oil in stock).
SO having purchased my oil, I head to the Kubota dealer for the hydraulic filters (2 for each machine) plus fuel and engine oil filters and air filter for the B26. I just replaced both inner and outer filter on the RTV last week (online purchase). Well the HST and hydraulic filters were $30 and $29 each for TLB and RTV and after checking online, I could have got them for around $12 each. Grand total $214 for filters. Live and learn. Hope I can remember that when the next 400 hour service comes around.

Oh you’ll remember. Give Messicks a call. They have decent prices and shipping rates. ;)

Wow, you can buy $30.00 Kubota filters for $12.00 online?? Where? I'd sure be be talking to my Kubota dealer about that.
BTW, I buy my filters and parts from Messicks, but the price difference isn't all that great - or at least I didn't think it was. I haven't checked recently.

Nobody ever mentions that the dollar, (yours and ours) is going to helll! A family restaurant, modest chicken lunch for two, yesterday, without beverage, booze or desert, with tip is $40.00!

Note that if they are aftermarket filters, they may, or may not be as good as the OEM filters. Someone (Messicks?) had a youtube video with OEM and aftermarket filters cut open and showing the differences.

I go out of my way to save a dime, but it's OEM filters for me, (now).

There was a guy on youtube, cutting open name brand filters. One name brand, was utter and total "paper" garbage. I don't want to say the (major filter brand) brand, because I don't recall, but it was a HUGE surprise and just another consumer rip-off.

Found it The worst oil filter EVER! - YouTube FF to 2:40

Nice, eh?

Regarding buying after-market filters (or anything else) on line. My attitude toward pricing is that the auction has already taken place. Competition keeps the prices fairly close. One vendor may be a few dollars less than another, but a quick Google of "[vendor] reviews" often shows customer service problems with the cheaper vendor. The old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true. Dismayed by the Kubota prices, I found the equivalent Baldwin (a premium brand) filters were more expensive than the Kubota filters.
