Rustoleum lubricants?

Anyone tried any of these, just seen them at Menards while getting some fluid film, wondered if they were worth a darn.

Ended up picking up a can of the gel and a can of the multi purpose just to see how they work on stuff.

I might want that gel. Let me know what it is like. I have had aerosol cans before that were a sprayable fluid that shortly later thickened into a grease consistency. I loved it because you could spray it, flow/run it and know that once it crept in to the gaps of moving parts and had 5 minutes or so to evaporate the carrier... it thickened up into a nice grease like lube that worked way better than WD-40 alone.

So, please do share your opinion of that "gel". I bet others will have similar interest in it as I do.

hmm interesting - I am not sure why you wanted to compare this to fluid film? fluid film has lanolin. does your can shows whats its made with?

I never got the impression that he was comparing to Fluid Film at all. If you re-read his original post, he says that while shopping for Fluid Film he came across these new products and wondered how they perform. My interpretation is that he is just discovering a new product and asking if any of ya'all know anything about them.... But I suspect that he still bought the Fluid Film because it is a totally different product/task.

What was it? Is it available retail or is it a professional only product like ZEP?

Can't remember the name, it was a consumer grade product...I think. Only thing I remember is it was called Spray Gel-Lube and it had a paper label because it fell off and I had to write the name on it. Spraying it had the viscosity of water and once the carrier evaporated it was sticky and as thick as white grease........Mike

Rural King is selling a few PB Blaster products including a garage door lubricant that does just that .... goes on as a spray, then takes a grease like consistency.
