I picked up a 2 bottom plow today for next to nothing. Turned out to be too good to be true- the plow has cat 2 pins, and my 4720 is cat 1. Turns out the 2 bottom used to be a 4 bottom, hence the low price tag.

Any ideas on how I can make this work?

It would be a job but ends of the shaft could be cut off and then CAT1 7/8" pins welded on. It would require a piece of heavy flat iron to provide the correct offset for the right side (near side) pin.

The CAT2 pin on the far (left) end could possibly be turned down to CAT1 in a lathe with a large enough hole thru the headstock.

I'm assuming that the shaft can be slid out of the right side of the plow to make it easier to modify in the shop. The shaft would end up shorter but that should be fine since a CAT1 is narrower than CAT2.

The picture shows CAT1 and CAT2 but looking at them from the front of the tractor rather than the rear.

Just be aware that if you go for a " Pat's easy change system" you will most likely need an extra long top link.

Thanks! The pats system looks like the easiest path to making this work. I’ve been meaning to pick up a set of telescoping drag links, guess this is the catalyst. I’ll get the kit from Pats ordered tonight.

Thanks again for the quick help!!

It should, if not welded in place.

If you go with PATS, won't you have hitch arms that will be too big (CATII) for your other stuff?

Take out those pins and have them widdled down or just go to TSC and buy a new set.
