Hello, I have a Mahindra 6520, 55 hour total, that until last year worked great. I stopped it for the winter and when I went to move it the following spring the clutch wouldn't engage and let me shift. I don't know that much about Mahindra clutch system and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they checked to fix it. It's like a hydraulic clutch where the reservoir went dry. I have a good tension on the clutch pedal but it will not let me shift into F or R. Is the clutch mechanical or hydraulic? Thank you in advance for any advice that could help. The tractor has been setting in the field for another year now and I need to get it fixed!

A quick search on TBN for stuck clutch will give you several ideas. Yours may be frozen to the flywheel. Does your clutch pedal have an external hook allowing you to remain separated from the flywheel? Under the right conditions, i.e., exposure to moisture, the elements take over. Thus the reason for the hook lock.

The clutch actuation is strictly mechanical - via a linkage. The clutch plate is captured between the flywheel and the pressure plate. With the pedal out the pressure plate essentially spring clamps the clutch plate between itself and the flywheel. When you depress the clutch pedal the linkage interacts with the pressure plate and causes it to relax the clamping pressure. This allows the clutch plate to spin freely. - - Your clutch plate is stuck to either the flywheel or the pressure plate - maybe even both.
When I first read your post I thought it had just stuck this past winter. But on reread it looks as tho its been stuck more than a full year? ... While a short term stick is usually fairly tenuous, a long term stick can be extremely tenacious and difficult to free.
Please give us some idea of your farm and shop resources. Also, do you have a neighbor with a tractor?
