New to me PT 2425

yup looks like your about 2 hours west of me...for some reason us PA pt owners are numerous.....I got the 2425 mainly due to the seating......I've got a bad knee and I couldn't stretch it out in the lower models but the tall seating felt good.......I know....dumb reason for choosing a tractor....lol.....Jack

Your not too far away from me; I live near Selinsgrove / Lewisburg, PA. I bought my PT back in 2014. Those 2425's look very handy to have. Around here you see allot of the Kubota bucket loaders that look similar to those; without the back hoe, of coarse. I remember Terry telling me when I went down to buy my PT that there were people who stopped in to buy a 425 or 1430, and instead bought a 2425 or 2430.

I agree the leak down is a pain......but the backhoe has saved me many times from the stupid situations I have put myself in.......I just instinctively reach around and pull it up every now and then.......the other parking brake options are dropping the front bucket and dropping the backhoe feet........Jack

Well, the reason I went with a PT is because of how low the seat is too the ground. I got hurt and am now in a wheelchair, so that's my reason for getting one. If I would have known before my accident how nice these things were, I would have bought one back then.

I've often thought about how easy it would be to convert direction and speed to one joystick control on these units for someone who's legs or feet don't work well. It might be a little jerky compared to the steering wheel, but it could work pretty well, I think.

Yeah, it's simple to do, and it works out alright. Where the hand control pivots I used two flange bearings that makes the action smooth.

On this video the guy has a brush cutter for his PT 2445. I had no idea these machines were not made for using mowers.

Yeah, that's the first I ever seen one of them. That machine would be so much more if it had the backhoe. For me, anyway.

Someone on here (forgive me, I've forgotten who) bought a PT400 series machine and a 2425 backhoe, adapted a quick attach plate to the backhoe, and used it on the front of the machine.
