Maybe limited to 6 yards by weight but the bed is considerably bigger. I just measured it and it would hold 8.5 yards level with the current sides but if you had side boards level with the headache rack it would be 13 yards.

Yeah I would've guessed 6yd to if I saw the planks was on the dump bed, just looks a little small without planks for 6 yd.
Yeah it does look a little shorter on the sides (6" or 1') than the ones I'm used to. If it the planks it might make 6 yards. The name 6yd single axle dump was a name used within the company I work at too. It may not be correct. Everything there has a generic name: kleins, hookbill, 2lb hammer, bell, ampact. Things change alot with time but the nicknames all stay the same.

Wow, guess my guess was way off. What size motor you have in that dump truck? Let me guess, it's a V-8 376ci gas motor.

There’s no side boards on mine currently. They rotted off and I haven’t replaced them yet.

366 gasser. I haven’t haven’t had a chance to use it much. I’ve only pulled my pintle hook trailer empty and that load of wood. I’m sure it has neck breaking power but it at least has pull the earth gears.

I finally shorten up my video on cutting sawmill slabs last weekend, I had over 10 min it was so long I got bored watching it. I kept the the first mistake in the video by not putting the 4x4 bunk back at the end of the slab bundle, almost lost it and I done that before last fall and did loose it, my next load I made sure to put the bunk at the end. Then after a 2 month rest didn't my 2171 start hard, maybe it needs a new plug, was good exercise though.

And these chain falls, I got to upgrade that next fall to a winch, I like exercise as long as it is fast, chain-falls are slow and the pull chain has to be kept going threw straight or it jams up.........

I wasn't going to post this video here but I just noticed SR already seen it. I made this video couple weeks ago just to show SR how miserable these Husqvarna saws start compared to my new Echo but didn't go according to plan. This new 550xp that I bought back in Feb. to replace my older hard starting aggravating 550xp started right up even after sitting for a month and it ran and idled great and it's diffidently safe to say this new 550xp does cut faster then my new Echo 501p, probably no surprise to SR..........

Do you think 366ci is enough power? Probably GMC calls it a 5.9 liter, most likely enough for what you do, nice truck though I could sure find a use for it.

As soon as I get the trailer brake wiring fixed and the backhoe loaded we’ll know what kind of power it has. With the deep gear ratio I think it’ll be alright. It’s a big step better than abusing my 1 ton. There’s a huge difference between the 2 trucks.
