Anyone else favor older tractors to newer ones?

I have one older tractor, and one newer, tier 3.

The older is super easy to work on, and is a reliable work horse ,but the newer one offers power steering and HST, and less fatigue at the end of the day.

Now and then I think about replacing the JD, but probably never will. I have an emotional attachment with it that I never have with a car or truck.

Not me. I have what you might consider an "older tractor" being it was made in 2010, but it is still "modern" with all the "luxury and convenience features". I am all about have features on a tractor to make using it a joy instead of an opportunity to learn new curse words. If it has something that will make hooking up implements easier or operating it easier I am all about that. Sure it makes the tractor more complex, but if and when it breaks, I will dive into the schematic and fix the SOB. What one man can do another man can do. If some Korean engineer engineered it, at least I can learn enough to repair it. I have repaired some extremely complex electronic things throughout my life, and I don't see the need to quit learning now. I feel the same about my Amateur radio equipment, I want the latest greatest highest performance I can afford. Not all feel the same way, many still love "boat-anchors", and enjoy operating them. Not me, when it gets some age on it, I start thinking about trading it off. Heck I still see guys building transmitters on pine boards with tubes and point to point wiring. Me, I learned last year how to solder in 100 legged IC surface mount chips. Yeah, in the world of SMD you need a lot of magnification and special techniques and equipment, but "if one man can do it another man can do it". I learned that phrase in a movie, but I believe in it. So guys stop saying "it is too complicated to repair" and get in there and learn something new. My two centavos. In my opinion, tractors and Amateur transceivers have never been as good as they are now.

Old tractors" UGH.... If all I'm doing is pulling a baler or hay wagons, fine, but if I want to do loader work in a tight area or in a timely fashion, I want newer equipment. The reason is the newer equipment are more user friendly. Switching directions is quicker, the hydro pumps are more efficient, controls and seating station is worker friendly, and visibility is better. Here is a video of a guy with a older tractor spreading gravel with a ratchet rake. Notice how painfully slow and clunky the movements are?

Yeah, that wore me out just watching him struggle with that thing. My first (that I owned myself) was a Long 2360 brand new but a 40 year old design. It was about like that. Old two stick loader controls. I got a new holland Hydro machine and while it was half the size, I could do twice the work of the older bigger non ergonomic machine.
What a difference.

I was just speaking to a customer who had down time with their swedish made wheel loader. Something about a DPF with salt that is suppposed to increase fuel economy. But the machine goes down and the company wants $1500.00 every time to release the codes, whatever that means.

So, they are spending 5 grand, to rip that CRAP out of the machine!

That's a good point. Didn't really consider the ergonomics for loader use. All of mine have loaders except the B. But I rarely use them for material handling. Mainly as a crane or a carry all. I mainly use them for towing, pulling stuck things, brush hogging, landscaping, mowing etc. The fastest way to move material IMO is a skid steer.

I spent in total less on these than the purchase price of a new 1 Series John Deere SCUT,,,

I would use my EA Deluxe Scrape Blade on My 1989 (30 yr. old) Ford with shuttle shift.
My scrape blade is new, but my tractor is old!
