When you don't grow up around moving machinery...it looks like everything is going to kill or maim you!

But many of us grew up learning to pay attention to our jobs and get along just fine without the "safety Sallies" following us around!

SR

You got that right have been a farmer all my life as well as a police officer for 33 years and seen many an accident with guards and without, some folks should NOT operate machinery. Have seen too many deaths,PTO and self unloading forage wagon, tip overs and some under dump body's. It's unreal what folks do to themselves.

Guess a lot of people dont realize how round saw blades work, as for that matter all moving machinery is dangerous, alot of people get hurt using chainsaws, but there is only one way to saw good fast quality cedar shingles. Yes cedar shingle making is a pay attention job and fast pace, the main thing is dont become complacent. Two years ago my son's trigger finger did get bit with that saw, it was a hello moment from the saw blade you might say. So the next time you guys buy cedar shingles or see them on a barn just think a minute how these things are made.

Here's my son again back 8 years ago or so, you might say he has sawdust in his blood, takes after my father. He's been around saws since he was 10 years old and I dont see him doing anything else. One thing about my son's shingle mill is, There's NO smoking................

For those of you still up tonight, got a great treat for ya and fresh off the press to........... My son wanted to update his shingle mill video when my daughter was out visiting yesterday, she does a lot better job videoing then I do, and my wife approves to because she's not facing the camera, my son's right hand helper. Lots of upgrades in 8 years, big diesel motor, new shingle edging saw, I haven't even been down to see it yet but my daughter got some good video of it, turn your volume up for full special effects........................

He was not even looking when he was grabbing shingles on that last clip... impressive. Dangerous, but impressive nonetheless.

I bet it would Haul A55

In all honestly... it is the fastest "Truck" I have ever driven... especially in a straight line... but I sure do look good driving it and when I had the niece in the car seat next to me even the then 5 year old said I don't think I can wave anymore... it was non-stop thumbs up and waves driving through Castro Valley...

4spd, 327 V8, standard brakes/steering... white with red interior.

The old family dump truck I use to drive had a 283 and a hi/low rear end activated from the stick shift... love to drive that truck but it got sold when I was off to college.

For many years Shake was required... other than being expensive I'm guessing the process is not sawn?

My neighbor is giving me these 3 dead standing trees, the largest is about 4 ft at the base. They are close to the property line and fallen my way the tops will drop onto my property. If I do not cut them they could fall across my easement road (my easement is across their property). The prevailing winds almost always blow towards the easement so I better be proactive. I am already up my eyeballs in firewood but this way I might be able to take next winter off.
