Yes!
Absolutely!
Messick's! Messick's! Messick's!
They treat people RIGHT !!!!

I bought a fan for my L2501 from Messicks, thinking I would save some money. WRONG. Once they added a ridiculous amount of shipping to the part it cost about the same as my local dealer. Later on I priced the filters I needed for the 50 hour service. They were exactly to the penny the same price as my local dealer. After they added their premium shipping cost they were much higher than I paid down the road. As far as I'm concerned there are absolutely no advantages (and a lot of disadvantages) when buying from Messicks.

There is a fuel "pre-filter", just a simple plastic filter with an in and out...looks just like the one on my lawn tractor. Both LS and NH want $57 for it....WHAT THE !!!

That's gouging at it's finest! Absolutely REDICULOUS! I will be getting one at TSC for under $10.

There was some discussion about that on another thread not too long ago; something about the 90 degree inlet making it an oddball.

By the way, has anybody figured out what color a Kutota is?

Judging from the many other Messick's customer reports, I would say that you are a member of a very minuscule minority.

I don't think so. I found the same to be true at my local dealer. Prices were identical on filters, oil, and other consumable items for my Kubota tractors. They also carry a fairly large stock of parts in their inventory. Any little savings on parts at Messick's was more than eaten up with shipping costs.

Nothing against Messick's. I would do business with them if I were in reasonable driving distance from them.

Shipping is what it is. I don't expect to get a great deal with shipped Kubota parts, but I do like convenience. I live close enough to Messicks that I can get anything delivered via their drivers for a flat rate of $10 (last I checked). They only deliver in my area once per week though.
I fired my local dealer several years ago for poor service (really poor). I know this thread is not about dealer service, but I just have to say that Messicks sales, service, and parts have NEVER let me down.

Some of us don't have the option of a local dealer... and this is where Messicks shines... they know Kubota and get the product to you doorstep...

Heck... some don't have a dealer within hundreds of miles... like my friend in Alaska... but you don't have to be in Alaska to not have a local Dealer...

Now the kicker....both of the fuel bowl filters were about $8.... There is a fuel "pre-filter", just a simple plastic filter with an in and out...looks just like the one on my lawn tractor. Both LS and NH want $57 for it....WHAT THE !!!

I had a mechanical shop once, and I hope I'm not too cruel here - but I'd blame that one on the parts manager. I'm glad to that forum members are outraged at that kind of pricing. It's the parts department's job to be responsible for sourcing and pricing parts in a way that keeps faith with the customers. In my opinion, that kind of part pricing isa mistake they should have caught and corrected.

It might be that the dealership has some sort of obligation to stock the manufacturer's part, but don't they also have a responsibility to stock optional parts on behalf of their customers? I hope that dealer is paying attention to thread like this - because If they aren't, their competitors will.

Here we have a tractor owner who took the effort to come to the dealership, and the dealership just sent him across the street to their competitor at TSC. What kind of sense does that make? Where's the advantage? It doesn't result in anything good for the owner, the dealership, or the tractor.

rScotty... grrrr... I just hate stupidity....

When I was shopping around for buying my tractor, phoning different dealers for prices/information, i could not believe some of the "attitude" from some. A dealer out towards the Arizona border took my information and told me he would call back in the afternoon. The next day, I still didn't hear back from him. When I called back, he sternly said: "Look, I'm really busy....there's a few other tractor dealers around, I'm sure they can sell you a tractor".... WOW! .... I checked them off the list real quick. A regional rep called a day or two later, asking how my interaction with the dealer went. He got the whole story and how I was treated. He assured me he would make sure that another dealer would call me within a day with the information I was requesting...... I'm still waiting.... 2 years later.... I just can't figure it out....

It seems the regional guys don't want to ruffle Dealer feathers... at least my experience...

I was told the Dealers are independent and Corp can't dictate operations...

Where did you hear that? I've worked at construction equipment dealerships for a couple big names as a service tech. The dealership always wanted to keep the region rep happy because that is the person that can help a dealership with questionable warranty claims and other issues such as parts expedition in order to keep a customer happy. Make the region rep mad, well you are on your own.

Why do you think so many small dealers are folding these days? Many times it is the manufacturer that terminates the franchise because they can't make sales goals.
