News Flash: New LS Tractor MT2E Series (Picture and Facts)

I found out today, from a reliable source, that the new MT 225e will have some sort of electronic fuel / governor control in order to prevent "up tuning" of the motor for more power. They also reported the step / floorboard has been reinforced. They also confirmed Tony's information about the addition of a toolbox and cup holder.

Dealers can start to order the MT2 series next week. There is a rumor that there is a dealer that actually received some of the 225e last Friday. I will try to confirm that tomorrow and report my findings.

So, they took a simple, known-to-be reliable engine, added electronic complexity that will reduce reliability, in order to prevent a very small percentage of customers who would try such mods.

My interest in the XG3025 was the LACK of such things on the engine. Not because I want to modify it. Because I want it to start every day for the next ten or twenty years.

Ugh. I've been juggling LS vs. Branson in my decision making. This may push me over to the Branson.

P.S. Thanks for the info!

I think the larger tires on the XJ and the taller stance helps in some applications.

The difference for me was that you have to remove the BH subframe to use the MMM on the 2025. I don't mow with the BH on, but I didn't want to have to be dealing with the subframe all the time.

Yep, deciding factor for me too. I had the opportunity to purchase (order) an MT225e for only $200 more than a new XG3025 (late production, assembled in Jan2019). It was a hard decision but went with the 3025 due to no electronic controls. You can get a really good deal on them right now....they don't want to have a lot of stock of them left sitting on the lots when the MT's get officially released.

Would have done exactly the same as you, except I plan to get a backhoe. LS sells the backhoe at an aggressive discount when you get the backhoe with a new tractor. My local dealer didn't have any more of the XG3025 in stock with the backhoe. Said he'd be getting the new model in shortly, some with backhoes. Seemed reasonable to wait, because he told me the tractor is unchanged from the XG3025. Now, that's not looking like accurate info.

I got the gear XG3025 with the BH. The dealer only had HST models in his stock, but transferred the gear model from another close by dealer. He had the BH in stock. To me the BH was a necessary attachment. It also has the updated new loader- - the LL3300, not the older 3110.

Well done. That kind of flexibility from a dealer is a good sign.

They really did good for me. Package included the BH, 2 rear remotes, a 575# 60" heavy box blade, and a PHD w/ 9" auger, 66" bucket. They knocked off $3400 from their list price including delivery. I couldn't say no. The sales guy said he has never sold one at such a steep discount. Well, they sell a unit... I get a great price!

I can attest that there are no cosmetic differences between the MT2-25e and the 3025 except for the decals and badging. The dealer sent me some pics, but I can't get them to transfer to my IPad to post here. If I can get them to load, I will post them.
