And you have the up side down............. That dosent look like it has a M-Tronic carburetor on it, thought that's what Stihl did few years ago.

MTronic came out on the 661 along with other changes.

and i second the locust being really hard dry. i broke a couple teeth on a chain milling some "rustic" steps

That is just the old carb adjustments. I believe the new 661 do not have any thing like those. Maybe someone with a 661 can chime in.

Awesome. I had a hay conveyor converted as well. A guy fabricated it then hit it with the tractor. I bought it and fix it up.

It was very efficient to have it sit at the end of the buzz table to catch the falling peaces and load it into my truck.

At the time my truck was a single axle 1978 one ton with a 454 motor. I had a dump insert in the box. Man it was an efficient set up except for the gas that the truck burnt. I could put together a load some fast. I moved to a different town and it was awkward to take so I sold it to the land owner for next to nothing. Wish I had it today.

Nice job by the way. Thanks for sharing.

GA, Sorry no wood tale here but I had to comment on your 1 ton truck. I bought a 99' Dodge Ram 3500 Dually with a dump insert in it just for the misc uses around the property and you are surely correct - it's been the best helper when ever I get a load of firewood, wood chips, gravel, etc., etc., for use around the place. I didn't plan to use it often but sure do appreciate having it available whenever I use it. Totally pleased with the dump feature, and don't regret the cash spent on it at all. Plan to keep it till I'm gone to the clearing at the end of the path. Greg

Yep, I have had a couple of single axle one tons with that motor in the past (long, long time ago) . . . strong, but thirsty.

I wish the heck I kept mine. Mine was a big 4 door crewcab 8 foot box. No rust and was in great shape but the wife said go get a nice truck for your retirement. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I didn't want to trade the truck but I did. I bought a nice f350 6 litre dully diesel. I had expensive motor trouble so I ended up selling it. A big heavy truck is awesome to have. Do you have a diesel cummins in your truck?

Mine was a used as a show truck. It had a double pumper holly carb and dull exhaust. When it started the ground would almost shake. The cops pull me over 4 times within 5 months telling me to fix my exhaust. I told them it was done up and nothing is wrong and if they could find something I would pay them $50. They never did charge me. I enjoyed that old truck. I had met and talked to many strangers because of that old truck. Wish I still had it. Yep. 10 miles to the gallon but for some reason I didn't care.
