Generator HEAD 3000KW -

I thought DARN that's a big one!
Only wants $250 for it.
Now I've got a 12KW, I've worked a lot with 30KW, I've been around 60 to 100KW.
BUT just how darn big would a 3,000KW be?
Would it fit on a tractor-trailer?

The only ones I saw of that size either had a steam turbine or gas turbine powering them.

That's 4,000 hp. I was project manager on a 60,000 sq. ft. med school research lab once, and 3,000 kw was about what we installed as a backup generator. IIRC, it took 4 semis, one for the generator, one for the motor, one for the fuel tank, and one for the transfer switch and power distribution system. The generator was 1100v. 3-phase to keep the copper down. This is a similar system:

My Diesel Generator collection has grown to 4, but this would be something I don't have.

I worked with an engineer one time that had a standby generator installed at her mom's house. She said it was a 16,000 KW generator. I asked her what her mom was running, that's the size of small power plant! She showed me a picture of the box it came in which said 16 KW. Just a small matter of the decimal point being in the wrong place.
