This is what is left of one of my Ponderosa pines. It was 105 feet tall and the stump, in the picture, is 38". The remaining chunk is 18 feet long - 32" on the big end, 30" on the small. When green this chunk weighed right at 4000 pounds. It has had six years to dry so I would now guess it weighs around 2000 pounds. Last year I moved this 18 foot chunk to its current location. Not a problem with the tractor & grapple.

Off topic Greg, but my sister used to live in Ramona, Ca. Nice beautiful little town ya got up there. They almost lost the house in the wildfires a bunch of years ago, it melted the kids plastic toys in the yard, but the driveway was wide enough to spare the house.

Ok, back on topic, I borrow one of my neighbors 10' dump trailers from time to time, works great but much nicer to borrow than to own

I also agree. My 3500 is much easier to use for firewood than my 6500.

Food for thought.....my customers liked receiving a 1 cord loads than two or three cord loads. 1 cord loads takes less room in their driveway. When they got that piled away I bring them another. Also some older people said thee cord loads spread farther from the woodsheds door.

Yep, food for thought . . . I really have no customers . . . :) . . . just the kids.

Yea the little truck is much better for firewood delivery. Aside from the reasons you already mentioned I can’t get a 6500 to into the areas I delivered and a lot of people can’t come up with the money for a big load. I have a lot of requests for a 1 face cord load which I usually decline.

The cummins is a great motor my 96 2500 had 382k+ before I let her go. My 05 2500 just turned 102k just broke in.

Ooo. More demanding than customers. Lol. As I speak I am in Halifax moving my daughter to her new apartment. She landed a GM position. Once a parent always a parent.

By "todays standards", the "B" in my dodge, (with Banks stage 3) is 224 hp and 643 on torque, doesn't sound so high powered.

AT least a guy I knew had the exact same truck and set up as mine, and that's what his did at the rear wheels. He also told me, they had trouble keeping the duals from slipping a bit on the dyno rollers, at full torque...

It does pull loads pretty good.
