Slab is getting poured, unfortunately the weather changed over night for the worse. Cold, windy, and rained some overnight, darn red oak decided to drop all its leaves onto the pour.View attachment 603023

Sorry to see this. Did they tell you the big lie that they would pull up the rebar while spreading the concrete? Guy in the picture is standing right on top of the rebar!!! At least you have proof in the picture if you decided to sue them.

I watched them pull it up, they were waiting on the truck that was late in those pictures so just standing around. It's hard to tell in the pics but it appeared to be in the bottom 1/3rd of the slab. I've seen worse flatwork but was a bit disappointed in it, granted we also had less then ideal conditions. 1253195444.jpeg

The brown and black is Shelby, raised her from a 6 week old pup, she use to ride with me when I had my transport company. The all black is Bruno, he's a SPCA rescue.

Unfortunately last April I had to put down Shelby due to her health, still haven't gotten over losing her, Bruno is still a little depressed too.941820579.jpeg1398433311.jpeg456509505.jpeg

Framing want pretty well, had a good crew that got it done in about a week. Walls are 2x61519433445.jpeg2035173151.jpeg2076432316.jpeg1116039811.jpeg

Framing done and sheathing on, now it was my turn to get back to work on it.

I'm not a fan of underfloor hvac ducts in concrete personally. I do have it setup so I can slide pex or even abs through conduit for the main water line when the time comes. Wish I had room for an office, right now I'm looking at just doing a small bathroom at some point.

What’s your ceiling height? Would you be able to allow floor space for a small office and build a mezzanine overhead? The workbench and machine tools (lathe , drill press etc which don’t require extreme height) could be underneath.

I didn't really get any pics of the roof other then this one of the underlayment. I went with a dark dimensional shingle that matched the house. I was pretty busy trying to get the roof on before we had bad weather, as you can see in the background I did get snowed on once or twice. 2096116804.jpeg

The biggest delay was getting all the trim board up so I could do the drip rail, i went with PVC for all the trim boards on the building.

Next was the doors and windows, the garage door was fun (18x14 insulated), lots of hardware! I had to use a come-along to lift the last panel into place, you can see my dad in the last picture getting ready for the "lift".

Doors all in and working, you can kind of see the trim in the pictures, still working on the tyvek, man that stuff isnt fun to work with if theres any wind!

Also a pic of the floor after grinding, the cold joint area left a rough spot that extended in a stepped line that extended across the middle of the shop (the same line you can see in the concrete pour pictures). Man those walk behind grinders wear you out!

Of course there was a wind storm that knocked a pine tree down, luckily didn't hit my nice new roof but only missed it by a couple feet!1043695474.jpeg
