An exhaustive Google search did not turn up much, so I thought I'd pose this question to y'all. Can I use AW68 in this application 50F-90F?

You mean a replacement oil for a Hydraulic system hat was spec’d to take 10-30 engine oil?
Jd Hydrau or Hydrau XR is designed to be such a replacement. I use it in my skid loader.

Yes, wacker does specify 10W-30 in the hydraulic system. The term "engine-oil" is not in the spec, so there is where my confusion is. Do I use "oil" or "fluid"?

There is no industry standard separating the terms. If Wacker specifies 10w-30 oil that means engine oil. This is a fairly common recommendation for hydraulic and hydrostatic systems NOT containing clutch packs or wet brakes.

Because 10w30 is so hard to find?

No. The issue according to JD is that engine oil specs are constantly changing ( CI, CJ, CK, etc). Also, zinc and other anti wear additives are being reduced because of potential harm to emission systems. JD said that they had to test and re certify every time a new motor oil spec would come out.
So they came out with “Hydrau” . JD owns the spec so it won’t change, and they are able to put the amount of zinc in that they want.

What does Deere have to do with a machine built by Wacker?

They have an oil that is designed to be a replacement hydraulic oil for equipment that specifies 10w30 motor oil.

I read the WACKER spec again yesterday. Anti-Wear Hydraulic Fluid 10W-30 in the hydraulic system. API rated SAE 10W-30 in the Briggs 16hp, and SAE 10W-30 in the exciter box.

Many of the popular hydraulic/transmission fluids are 10W-30 fluids.
