Buying off CL and the buyer wants cash

What's wrong with controlling illegal business??? :confused3:

Nothing really if one needs others to tell them what to do and how to do it.

Cash will go away when cash transactions are illegal perhaps.

I've said it before; it's a cafeteria-style morals system (pick what you want) when people try and justify not reporting their taxes properly trying to get one over on "the government". In all reality, it just screws the honest folks.

Here in Canada (At Least) the Honest people are quite capable of screwing themselves.

So if reporting the minimum you can get by with is stealing and dishonest what does that make collecting one of the many government benefits?

The Gov leaders help themselves to the biggest slice of the cake. Then, give away the other pieces to non citizens. Only the crumbs (and DEBT) are left for us anyway.

And you think people should "willingly" pay into that system?

If I buy something with my hard earned cash, that the government has already taken their "fair share" of, use it for ten years, sell it for less than I paid for it, I should let the government take their "fair share" again?

The buyer pays the sales tax, not you.

Why would anyone consider doing that? I'm not sure how you would owe tax on a loss?

Do states with a sales tax apply it to private sales? Seems like it would be all but impossible to enforce.

It's not called sales tax. It's capital gains tax. You buy something for $1000 and sell it for $2000, you have a capitol gain of $1000 and you owe capital gains taxes on that. And yes, it's hard to enforce.

Cars are a different animal.
