I bought some New Holland paint from the dealer, and it just says to use CHN thinner. Does anyone know if you just use lacquer thinner, or is it something else?
I have a bush hog finish mower that I had to tear down, so I figured I would do the por15 underneath and New Holland blue on top. I like how the por15 turned out. We will see how it holds up.
FYI, you can buy most tractor colors in a spray can from Tractor Supply, if they are not an exact mach I could not tell the difference on my New Holland and Massey.
I Just did some sheetmetal rework on the 3910. I bought the TSC Ford Blue and it's Premium paint and goes on like it. Really a smooth finish, as good as factory I'd say, no brag, just fact......different spray nozzle, very fine mist, read the directions on the can as it sprays different than the old cans. Color is the third Ford Blue, similar but seemingly slightly darker than the original 000 series blue of the early '60's, not the mid '60's "aqua" tinted blue. No way would I fuss with a spray gun when you can get results like this from a rattle can.
For longevity, i painted the 2000 when I bought it some 20ish years ago, kept it under a shed roof. Will shine up just like new. If you leave your equipment out in the weather than I can't help you with how it holds up to that.
