On another note as far as trailer finish in a rust belt state has any one used rhino lining or line-X the whole trailer?Just curious..

I'm still not sure if the op is talking about flatbed or dump, but if were talking flatbed I have a Gatormade 25+5 with mega ramps, 2 10k axles with super single 17.5 tires and I like it, if anything it is made a little overbuilt with the main I-beam channel being 14" instead of the usual 12" which adds extra weight to the trailer, it weighs in at about 7300 lbs before you put anything on it. I have never heard of or seen a Lamar brand trailer but they sound like they are well built and it also sounds like a few people really like them.:D

Borrowed my neighbors Big tex for something that wouldn't fit on mine, and loved it. That will be my next one.

If your paint flakes off it is powder coat, not paint. Lots of trailer manufacturers go with powder coat and don’t prep it correctly and it will peel off in sheets in the snow belt.

I recently shopped a slew of brands here in PA and went with Quality Trailers, made somewhere in Ohio. After looking around and looking at channel sizes, welds, finish and cross members I felt that for the style of trailer I am looking at and the available options... Quality Trailers Pro series was the best option.

So because 1 person 3 years ago on another forum had a problem with a Gatormade trailer they are all no good? I am pretty sure you can find those same types of stories out there about every brand made, I stand behind my original post my Gatormade trailer hasn't given me one problem so far, so I am still satisfied with my purchase.

I have only owned two trailers (3 if you count my camper). First was an 8 foot utility trailer kit that I put together and added my own 3/4 inch plywood deck. Second is the 16 foot Rice utility trailer I bought 3 years ago. I have not noticed any rust or paint problems (except where I have abused it and worn the paint off by putting heavy implements on it that scratched up the painted surface. All in all, I think it's a pretty nice trailer.

Agreed. The Internet is a collection of complaints. If the total number of trailers sold were known and how many serious issues the trailers had, then there is something to post about.

I have a BigTex 16-foot dump trailer, two years old, lived its life in Michigan, it looks new excluding the dump bed.

Line-X wanted $2300 just to do the floor on my 24 footer, so unlikely.
