Mahindra Max28XL Shuttle
Greetings, I am a newbe here so forgive me if this has been asked before, I searched for a related thread and came up empty-handed. I just bought a 2013 Max 28 XL Shuttle that had 82 hours on the clock and it did not have any attachments. I purchased a Max 26L loader and a MX26M from a dealer in Chattanooga and I installed them myself. I am very mechanically inclined and although it was a bit of a challenge to do on the garage floor I have the satisfaction of being self-reliant. The mid mount mower is working fine and I am eager to give it a spin, the loader, on the other hand, has been quite a nasty booger. For starters for anyone thinking of attempting this task the bracket that attaches the control valve bracket to the loader main frame was for the new style two-piece valve and was not a direct bolt on but I have a welder and I was able to fab a bracket to hold it until another solution can be reached. One of the hydraulic quick couplers is leaking quite profusely and it seems to be an oddball size that is not available at tractor supply or at local hydraulic shops. and the biggest mystery is that although I have plenty of hydraulic fluid flow up to the loader valve I do not have any pressure unless I operate the 3 point hitch and as the 3 point hitch is going up for a brief moment I have 2K of hyd pressure and the loader will raise and the bucket will curl and dump as they should. I cycled them a few times to work out any remaining air. Initially, during my troubleshooting, I have blead air out of almost every fitting. I have never used so much oil dry in my life. I have gone through a couple of gallons of fluid keeping the reservoir full.

The dealer has practiced radio silence since I notified them of the problems with the product that I bought. I realize that the hyd pressure issue is my issue and I am hoping that someone has ran across it before.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sounds like you pulled your hydraulic pressure from the wrong spot. If the loader only had pressure with the 3 pt valve all the way up that could be an adjustment. But only when moving the 3 pt.....I think it’s the wrong source.

That is possible since the markings on the valve seem to mean nothing, Pressure port on the main valve hooked to the P port on the manifold, The P port and the N port on the manifold do the exact same thing as far as the pressure gauge goes, plenty of flow but no pressure until the 3 point is going up and near the top. The T port on the manifold seems to be the return to tank line with no flow or pressure.

Ok I just figured it out. There was a small pipe plug included with the loader kit it was always on my mind and I looked a few times for a place to put it. There was no mention of it in the installation manual. It needed to be inserted into the P port on the hydraulic manifold. This gave the fluid the correct path and allows pressure at the control valve. In this process, I spoke with the service managers at two different Mahindra dealers and nobody had a clue. Nice! The P is probably the power beyond port.

The power beyond port, according to the diagram is the one to the rear on the manifold. P is supposedly the pressure port.
