Max 22 fuel solenoid again!

Here we go again. My tractor has another bad fuel solenoid. This is #3. It starts and runs when cranking but dies when the key is in the run position. Called the dealer and they want 270 bucks. Ouch! Ordered one on Amazon for 50. It's a different brand. Maybe this one will last?????

How do I know how far to screw it in before locking it down with the nut?

Probably a little too detailed. Someone much more knowledgeable than me said to start the engine with the solenoid backed out then turn the key off and screw it in until the motor shuts off.

My dealer wanted 276 bucks and had to order it. I found one on Amazon for less than 50. Ebay has them for around 35.

I'm no mechanic... start by setting the new Solenoid just like the old one.
Either measure or count the thread turns out of the old mounting, put the new one in the same way.

I got one off the Web, I could look it up if needed, did what I said above, worked.
Can't remember if it was Amazon or eBay, but it looked exactly the same, worked the same for six months, so far so good !

I screwed it in as far as the old one was. It worked fine.
