So I recently repaired my John Deere 410D backhoe. I installed a new main line to the front loader as well as replaced the back swing cylinder. There is obviously air in the lines which if im right you just run the hydraulics to bleed it out? The other question I have is when filling the hydraulic oil does the Reverser oil Reservoir and the Hydraulic Reservoir share the same oil? I was filling the hydraulic oil reservoir with hydraulic oil and it seemed like it was overfilling there reverser oil reservoir. Im curious about this because I don't want to hurt nothing on the machine. Also, Is there any substitute oil I can put in my machine other then the Hy-Gard Hydraulic/Transmission Oil? I was gonna go to tractor supply and get some Traveller Premium Universal Tractor Trans/Hydraulic Fluid, 5 gal. but want to make sure it will work before I do that. The closest JD dealer to me is about an hour hike. I've attached pictures showing what i'm talking about.

I not familiar with JD industrial tractors but I'm very familiar with JD AG tractors that have similar closed-center hyd's. The hyd reservoir you're referring to is filled by excess fluid while trans pump is supplying oil to frt hyd pump.

Thanks for the reply so does that mean I should fill another spot? The reverser reservoir is filled its actually a little over filled which i'm gonna extract some out to make it back to the normal level, but am I supposed to fill it somewhere else?

I will suggest that you acquire an operators manual for your machine & read it. I don't know the correct answer to your question.
