Here in Sierra foothills of California, I have 5000 gallons of water storage, a hydrant with a 2-1/2 inch hose coupling for connection to fire truck if necessary, and several 1-1/2 inch connection point in my system for my 1-1/2 inch gas engine pump.... Also backup generator that can run my well in case utility company chooses to shut down power grid to area because of danger to firefighters or some other reason.... In past two years there had been two major fire's that have come very close to our home (like 2-3 miles).... They were the Detwiler fire (80,000 acres) and Ferguson fire (96,900 acres) .... And most recently not to far north from us the "Camp" fire (153,300 acres) that pretty much wiped out the whole town of Paradise CA, and killed about 85 people... Yes fire danger is real....
