Ford 1920 Muffler correct?

The old muffler finally cracked clean through,the inner can as well. I'd already welded it back previously so it was time to replace it. I purchased a Stanley muffler F0-35. Read up, searched here for info and researched reviews on the model on other sites. When it arrived I could look down through the outlet end and see the pipe runs clear through the muffler, daylight seen coming through from the inlet bend end. There are lots of holes in sides of inner pipe to outer can but I expected it to be chambered. The old muffler was a double can design, couldn't see through it. I have the new one installed and it's more throaty sounding on the tractor than the old one. Other than sounding a little louder and having to work to get the top pipe back on the larger outlet end it seems ok. I also phoned Stanley muffler directly to ask if the muffler was missing a baffle or such. The lady that took the call sort of shuffled me off quickly and said it was the correct design for that model tractor.

My question is: Should I be concerned about less back pressure on the engine?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Did that lady also suggest that you replace the muffler bearings?
"The lady" likely knows a whole lot about answering digital telephones, but absolutely nothing about mechanical equipment.

Don’t worry about back pressure, it is a non issue. The Stanley muffler will be considerably louder than the OEM muffler. The OEM muffler will cost 2-3 times what the Stanley costs.
