We're pretty much the same animal that showed up to replace the Neanderthal 100,000 years ago, biologically speaking, and we still use our physical abilities in the same way, but for different purposes. Our culture, communication and tool making skills create Iphones and ballistic missals instead of arrow heads and stone axes.

True...and from what I've read, the Neanderthal DNA we have inherited is associated with our immune system and is superior in that regard.

My Grand father's favorite saying. He used his outdoor privy even after they had a bathroom installed (for the ladyfolk).

My dad built an outhouse with a girls side and a boys side for us kids. Except he never put up the wall between because the girls said they would never use it. If the well pump ever quit the boys were supposed to haul water in buckets from the creek to fill up the back of the toilet for the girls.

No, the toilets were inside the house. The outhouse (outside) was for when the pump quit or power went out (often). But mom and the girls changed the rules when they figured out they could make us boys haul water from the creek to the back of the toilet. I think there was not going to be dinner if we held out or something drastic like that.
