Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

That's the way it goes for me also. Work up a sweat getting the genny out, running and plugged in so the sump pump can work, and then the power comes back on.

It is especially fun when this happens after dark.

I bought a riding mower/atv jack from them recently for $89 and have been very pleased with it. Monday I bought a Bauer electric drain auger for $99 with coupon. It works really well, looks similar to a bull pup automatic rifle, has a lever for forward cable feed and retraction also cable locking chuck.Makes quick work of snaking lavatory and kitchen drains, cable length is 23ft. I watched several demos and reviews on YouTube before buying.

But on the bright side, you don't need to pull it out and exercise it again for another three months.

The son used the Lyxx chain saw today to get down a young tree blocking the security light for a few years one limb at a time. Now I can to better get around at night. It was still showing 4 bars after some usage. I realized how little the saw ran on tasks like that. It is a fast turning chainsaw too. He called it a keeper.

Good to know. Been thinking of getting a battery saw for those small jobs when it takes longer to fire up a gas saw than to do the cuts. I have the Lynx pole saw, and it's great.

No sooner posted that than it died on me. Went out to check, restarted and it ran fine for a few minutes then died again. Then I noticed the vent lever on the gas cap that has to be open to prevent the vacuum from making it think it was out of gas. Opened that, restarted, ran a few minutes, then utility power kicked back in.

Gotta love those "undocumented features".

Oh man. I had a terrible time with HF's previous version 6.5hp shredder until I finally figured out the low oil shutoff was too sensitive. A few minutes running made enough vibration to settle into soft ground a tiny amount and trigger a shutdown, before the machine was visibly out of level. I hope the current version shredder is more reasonable.

I bought several tools from HF and they have been great! Two of the most expensive are the p;late compacter-absolutely love this and a MIG flux\gas welder. The cheapest tools I love to like the latex gloves and tie strips.

I like the two thickest grades of Titanium Nitrile gloves.

You do know that if you didn't drag it out the power would go out and stay out just after the torrential downpour started.
On the other hand, if you do drag it out you're assured no rain, no winds and the power stays on.
