Hello. When my temperature sender begins to warm the resulting resistance change causes my warning lights to illuminate (low oil, hyd warn, and others). I have a black wire that is not connected near the starter in the wiring harness. I believe this needs to go to the 12V side on the starter, but I have found no wiring diagrams to help. I was going to connect via a 1 amp or smaller fuse to test and trace the wire, which appears to go to the fuse block. I have included a Picture. I would really appreciate you input/experience on this. BTW, the tractor has no low oil pressure etc. I bought this used and working out the kinks. Thank you, Ken

Back in '92, there was an improvement kit installed on the 55 series. It included a new improved starter relay. That black wire should have been cut off at the conduit since it was no longer used. It originally was installed on small post of starter solenoid where the white one is now. Is there a starter relay now mounted at the front of the firewall?

Yes there is a starter relay. Bingo. Thank you very much jd110! . I am going to see if I have 12v on my brown wire which is common to the temp, air, and hydraulic sensor. My guess no 12V and when the coolant temp resister begins to open all the gauges go into error.
I've been hardening my tractor for going through the woods so I apologize for not responding earlier. Thank you!

Another thing to check is the instrument cluster ground connection.

Thank you Jim. I will check tonight. I will followup on what solves the instrument panel gauges.
