When I first got my tractor, going forwards or backwards if I removed my foot from the go pedal, the tractor would stop rapidly.
It still does this when going backwards, but if I'm going forwards, it takes a bit of time to realize I'm not still pushing on the pedal.

Once it stops, it's stopped good; it seems like the forwards pedal just doesn't return how it's supposed to.

Is there a lube point I'm missing, or some spring that needs to be replaced?

Check the linkages for the HST pedal. Maybe something got stuck there or something in the linkage is loose.

Mine's a little slow to return when the tractor is cold but works correctly when it's warm.

I think the pivots have nylon sleeves. The process to adjust the linkage is in the shop manual. It's pretty complex.

Some of this might help your situation. Possibly there might be dirt buildup or debris in the pedal linkage and affecting one side more than the other.

Some debtis could be stuck in one side of your pedal return spring. My 3520H had a broken return spring - didn't appear broken visually at first but it was. When I got the replacement spring from the Branson dealer the new spring was noticeably thinner/smaller wire. It works but but the thin spring sure affects pedal adjustment.
Feels different now.

Been nearly a month since you posted - what did you find?
I have 260 hours on my 3520H and the return spring has broken once, I replaced it with a spring that is on the shelf at TSC.
Now it is starting to drift again...
Bought a new spring from Branson and it looks as if they changed the part - this one is much thicker than the original...
With the HST - just buy a handful of the spring and put them in your shop - they will break when you least expect it... like at the very back food plot in the deer lease...
Had to hoof it out 3 miles of logging roads to get to the truck.... that $5 spring can make this tractor yard art ... keep a spare.

My springs are fine.
I've found that the problem doesn't exist if I don't use the cruise, and if I do engage the cruise, the problem rears its head and gradually disappears. All signs point to a dragging cruise magnet, but I don't know where that's at and to tell the truth I don't need cruise (my place isn't big and I merely used the cruise because I could for 30 seconds haha).

Does anyone know where the cruise magnet is? Ideally I'd like there not to be any niggling issues, especially ones that a quick squirt of wd40 will clean off!

Also - if the spring breaks, couldn't you just use the reverse pedal to bring the pedals back to center? Inconvenient and not entirely safe to rely on long-term but it seems that it could get you out of the back 40? :confused3:

Well here you can call me a chicken chit if you like.... Had a rather steep embankment to go down - over a pipe that was barely as wide as the tractor then an incline that requires 1st + 4X4 to crawl back up....I really did not want to try it, **** I still own some $$ on this tractor. safer to walk, besides my fat arse can use a little walking

Can't blame you there!

The cruise magnet is under the floorboards by the pedals, near their pivot.

I assume that when the magnet goes on, it moves over and grabs? Kinda like a solenoid?
