Good morning!!!!

Back when I was living in Livermore and commuting, usually via Norton motorcycle, to Berkeley for school, there was a hotdog stand not far from where most of my classes were held. To borrow a lyric, I ate more 'dogs than any man ever seen. The neat thing is that they were all cooked on a sizzling hot griddle to order, and there were at least a half dozen different kinds. Lots of different condiments, too, and several types of buns. I never seemed to get tired of 'em, a good thing because Top Dog, as it was called, was often the only restaurant open in the wee hours when we'd finish a lab session, and that hot dog was the only thing keeping me warm on the cold thirty mile ride home.:cloud9:

Brogen 1 Black Bear 0. It was an exciting evening; more than I care for. It was dark and raining when Brogen started acting like we were having visitors. As I opened the slider to retrieve the remaining hanging feeders. There was the big Bear on its hind legs pulling down the the feeder pole outside. Brogen fullback-like barged by. That bear went from standing to running at top speed instantaneously with Brogen in full pursuit. It does appear that Brogen treed that bear in the deeper woods. He actually returned when called. A happy revved up dog. It took hime ~ 2 hours to calm down. The rest of the night I could hear him clickitty and clacklitty across the kitchen floor on guard duty. Between his noise making, the wind, and the rain it was a long and sleepless night. Today it just so happens that he is scheduled for a nail trimming at the vets.

Living the kosher life growing up saved me from most meats and processed foods including white bread (lard) as a kid. Bacon and cheeseburgers started me down that slippery slope of less than healthy food choices.

Rick- Thanks for the link about assassin bugs.

Kyle- I am a PA import to MA. Northcentral PA has a "twang." I can still call a car a car instead of caw. Residents in western MA especially the Hilltowns try to avoid Boston as much as possible. No way I look, act, think, and/or drive like a Bostonian.

Bird- We too purchase the smallest available cans of sauerkraut.

Phil- I hope that your nose/sinuses heal quickly. Take care.

"... It's a beautiful time to be alive. Going to try to make the most of it."- Drew

Claye- I am sorry to read about your friend. The workman's comp process was one of the more dehumanizing experiences that I have experienced.

Lynn- I am sorry to read about your respiratory issues. Take care.

"... We need to change the direction of the health conditions of the group! Maybe it's just that time of the year."- Ted Aging bodies does not help.:(. Don especially has tried to expose us to healthier eating and food. choices, but.......... We all have our rationalizations, justifications, and denial mechanisms going.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers especially for those in recovery mode.

Wifey says : "tell him to get the small bagged sourkraut...that canned stuff is awful!" She grew up with sourkraut and pork, hotdogs and sourkraut, 'anything with sourkraut'... I won't go near it....

We're just the opposite. I like it, wife won't touch it and claims it stinks up the house. And you know, she's the same way about my sardines.

Check your Kiddie fire extinguisher:
Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Mine was on the recall list. A TBN member tried to use his on a well switch fire and: "The plastic pin broke and wouldn't release the trigger."

I entered the information and received an e-mail with a reference number and the response:
"Retain your reference number to check the status of your request.
Thank you for providing your information.
Entry is not a guarantee of replacement."
