My wife was complaining that the gutters needed cleaning, so off I go to slide an apple box on the pallet forks, and grappling it so it absolutely can't come off.

It sure is nice having a wife who also likes to help get jobs done!

So, it wasn't too awful long and we had the job done...

BTW, that's another thing you can't do with a dedicated grapple!

ok, ok, sorry about pics. This was a big event here.
harvest this year was down surprisingly. Last year I harvested 2300 pounds, this year 1900. One month of almost no rain right in the middle of growing season
kept the size down. However, that's plenty of taters to feed a lot of folks.

Ancient Zaga Dutch bulb and potato lifter did a great job, happy to have a neighbor with the right machine, nice T4-75 to run it, though when offered several hundred bucks to bring his tractor and machine two miles down the road, he took the money...which I was happy to spend based on last years efforts in heavy weeds, wet ground and a potato plow. This year was so much easier, we were done by noon, with more volunteers this time. Two ladies from LDS helped, lots of community involvement, which is good since we are mostly seniors and this is not easy work.

I am now in rest mode, happy to spend an hour or two a day picking veggies. Currently cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cukes and okra being picked.

I kept two boxes of reds and whites back, making up gift bags of red, white and blue potatoes for the holidays.

It wasn't a particularly hot morning that morning, thankfully, but my friend Ed, retired from PCS, where all the phosphate fertilizer comes from, down River from here,
as usual was attired in his white Tyvek suit. He wore these at work and now he must have a big box of them because he likes them to keep his other clothes clean.
I didn't think Tyvek breathed (?) so I was worried how hot he was getting in that thing. He drives the van and is a huge help to the food pantry, clearly one of the top three volunteers, and if he wants to wear a Tyvek jump suit, well looks pretty sharp to me. I love the see through pane in the straw hat, casting a pretty green down on things.

Your friend Ed reminds me alot of my dad... tyvek suit, straw hat, and helping out with a smile! My dad passed away a few months ago, but it makes me smile to see some of his quirks show up in others.

Good show to all of you, doing what you do to help others in need. My hat's off to you!

There's NO way you would get me or my wife to lean over the edge of that roof to clean the gutters... lol

Compared to standing in a secured apple box with something to hang onto, that would he suicide!!

When you get old and fat like me, bending over a roof isn't the best way to do things. lol

I do it all the time, Ladder up in one place and I can do all the gutters without moving any equipment!
