Matches are a backup... I want two opportunities to start a fire if it ever becomes necessary.

When we used to XC ski we carried matches in a condom to keep them dry, now we vacuum seal them as emptying your pockets in public didn't look good.
On the yacht we have about six boxes that are vacuum sealed as a back up.
We have a compass on the yacht, it is required by law which brings another device to mind, I have a sextant and can use it (but use a quartz watch).

Pre ruined diesels and manual transmission trucks.

Preferably the same truck! I don't care if its a mid-80's Chevy with the painfully underpowered 6.2L diesel, or one of my 7.3L Powerstroke superduty trucks, put a stick trans in it...

Yep, ordinary digital meter is near useless for cap testing.. If it has a cap value function then that is cool.

Yep. drive what you like. Hydro tractors are the best for MOST people. not all. If you like manual trucks. It is OK with me.
