This is my shop; 24X32. It's perfect for what I use it for; my only regret was that I didn't pour a concrete apron in front and back.

Awesome looking shop and calender ! Would'nt be Jane Mansfield would it ? :D

No, it's an artist's rendition of a beautiful nude, but no name. It's a 1959 calendar that I bought as an antique, about 10 years ago. I also have a Texaco calendar from my home town 1944 I believe.

Just curious about how it sits on your property...there will be a lot of storm water runoff to deal with at some point on the footprint...and then beyond and turning it loose...

Great question. So my property sits on a small "hill". The barn will be built at the top, so run off will be downhill and into our pond. I think we will be using gutters to divert the water to the north end of the building and down the ditch on that side of the road over there. Which in turn runs down to the main road ditch, and then into our pond. Once our pond is full, it diverts back out and into the road ditch and down to the creek.

Does the ridge vent help that much?

Yes. It provides ventilation when the shop is closed up, so when we first go in it is not so hot. In fact I never close it, even during our winter here, both cold days :). When we are in the shop both rollups are open, on the north and south side, so it isn't as important then.

Nice building!!! Why are the overhead door windows so high? I see that often. Never understood why?

I never thought of it but I would guess the obvious to let light in but too high for someone to look in to see what they could walk off with.

With a large double window right beside it?

No, the one on the left, I believe is from a '60 and the one on the right from a '59 Impala. There is a bumper guard from a '59 there also, plus a GIANT fishing lure.

I've got a Vette cap that looks a LOT like the one to the right of your door. I'll get a close up pic this evenin when I get home. I thought it was an Impala cap too. My boys straightened me out. I'll find out the identifying details.
