I have to interject my $.02 about plastic hoods. I’m quite fine with plastic fenders. Hoods, not so much. I had a Deere 4400 and am involved extensively with construction equipment. The issue isn’t the hood itself, but the means of attaching the hood to the tractor. As the plastic ages and gets brittle, the epoxy that mates the metal hinges to the plastic hood often fail. I’ve seen in on many compact wheel loaders and my Deere 4400 tractor. If they could figure that out, I’d be good with it.

I had a Mahindra once and I would never buy another one. Just my opinion. I have been happy with all of my Kubota equipment.

A google search, that would take as much time as it took for you to write out that snarky *** response, would show you how hoods are important in designing crumple zones. Ignorance is fun on the internet though huh?

They started putting crumple zone hoods in cars in the early 70s. But keep telling yourself that car hoods and tractor hoods are somewhat relatable.

Have fun wearing your steel motorcycle helmet. Because that makes as much sense of a comparison.

So because I’m not opposed to learning I just read the first three articles that came up in my search for automotive crumple zone and guess what? The word hood does not appear anywhere.
So rather than resorting to name calling and making childish comments about headgear that do not apply to the recipient take a breath and get over yourself.

And does John Deere put plastic hoods on their large industrial size tractors?
