If you look at the Kubota site, recommendation above freezing is 10W-30 or 15W-40.
As long as the oil you use meets the minimum specs by the OEM you are fine. The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act*means they have to prove damage was due to improper maintnance components. It's quite illegal for a dealer to just blame the oil you used for any damage to a machine unless they can conclusively prove it.Let me ask, if oil is used that is not on the list of recommended by Kubota ( such as Rotella ) than how may that affect warranty should an issue occur that may not be at all related to oil choice.
Assuming someone at Kubota wanted to push the issue
And also 10W-30 below freezing as per Kubota's web-site.If you look at the Kubota site, recommendation above freezing is 10W-30 or 15W-40.
Like others have said, pay no attention to Kubota. Even the owners manuals are outdated. What the dealer sells you in the Kubota jug, is something your manual tells you not to use, LOL
I run either Shell Rotella T6 or Petro Canada Duron-E synthetics. Only thing you need to look for is you want the one that is labelled CK-4. It is backwards compatible.
Some new emissions motors (that don't apply to our emission motored tractors) call for a new oil category....called F-4. It is not backwards compatible and you don't want this for your tractor.
These will be shown in the little donut symbol on the oil container.
From the Shell Rotella web site, explaining it all:
What is PC-11? | CK-4 & FA-4 Diesel Engine Oil | Shell ROTELLA(R) | Shell ROTELLA(R)

Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act - WikipediaSpent 30 + working for new car dealers and Ive seen stuff denied that would shock some people, Im leery to use anything but what they suggest.
My dealer doesn't stock SUDT2 only UDT. He said that for our climate we dont need the SUDT which he claimed only benefits is for below 0F operation. It rarely gets below 32F here.I vote for T6 Rotella 15W40. All my Kubota equipment gets that. And never use anything in the hydro but Super UDT2, that’s great stuff.
