Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

yeah guaranteed 20% coupons anytime. But the 30% are rare and I don't see them on this site.

The 30% coupon was on that site a week ago. But with a $10 max for regular price, it's really limited in my opinion. It gets your attention until you realize you can save 'up to' $3.00.

Saturday I used a harbor freight 4.5 angle grinder to grind the weld off my exhaust pipe to get a new muffler on my car.

30% off a $10 item is $3.00, not $.30.

Ha, that was a brain typo - thanks. I corrected it. But I meant $3.00 compared to the everyday $2.00 or $2.50 discount on the same items isn't worth a special trip. Plus the normal coupons don't have a $10 product limit.

I know I could research this thread but I am lazy. Looking for experience on HF Gantry Crane.

Telescoping Gantry Crane - 1 Ton

Looking to lift off my F-150 bed for a repair. Thoughts? Thinking of using a 25% coupon. Puts it at $555 plus tax. Seems worth it. Problem is I have no more room in my garage/shop.

Overkill.
A bed lift frame and an engine hoist will do the same cheaper and better.
And won't take up much room when you store it.

For doing that, the engine crane is more than enough and takes up way less space... Last time I pulled the bed on my Ranger I took 4 2x4's (scraps) and screwed them in pairs to a length that would fit under the bed rails then just put a chain in the mix and lifted the bed, on an F150 it's probably around 400lb tops but whatever I did 3 years ago on the Ranger worked very well and was simple...

Not to push you against the A frame, as I plan to buy one or make something similar once I get my shop built...

Set some pallets or sawhorses behind it to keep it at the same height and pull it by hand. 2 stout guys can do it or with 4 people it’s a breeze. Or just use your tractor.

Gantry crane has worked well for me but I replaced the I-beam with a higher rated one that I had.

So dragging the bed aft will be a piece of cake and not damage the bed? Still like to be able to lift things. Always fighting heavy loads and with age, I am losing.
