You also have to consider that I worked 28 years as a self taught electronic engineering technician from a wheelchair, I didn't have to work at all. A few years after a motorcycle accident that left me para pelagic, my father offered to buy me a car so to learn how to drive with hand controls, payment for the car was that I was to take a course of my choice at my local vocational school and get a job which I did.
This was not an easy thing to do in the 70's, everything was a challenge, the hardest challenge was to find the right person with the right mindset to actually hire someone that many thought was supposed to be in an institution.. Seems to me less and less people have backbone these days..
