This is my first diesel tractor but I do have two diesel pickups and my question is what fuel are you folks using year round where it gets down to -30* in the winter and 95* in the summer ?

Are you folks just using number 1 or 2 OTR diesel or Non OTR diesel with die being itç—´ cheaper.
I get my fuel at Cenex being their diesel on the regular pump is blended according to the seasons and have yet to have a filter gel up in winter.

For my pickup I used the service station treated fuel, when it's getting sub zero I also add more anti gell.
My tractors are on #2 off road fuel till cold weather then additives and one tank is blended fuel about 30-40 percent #1 (kerosene)
with anti-gell additives.

I hope that what ever you use you continue to have no issues with gelling as it will always happen at the worst time possible.

I am just trying to get a fuel shipment. A little nervous about world events. But, at the same time I don't like the fact that I will be getting summer fuel and it may cause issues in the cold.

I use offroad, only difference is the dye, one is on road taxed, the other isn't.. Why pay taxes on the same fuel if you don't have to.. I add antigel in the winter..

The spread in taxation between the two isn't as much here as it used to be.

About 40 cents a gallon here..

Before I got another tank for winter fuel, I kept a 55 gallon drum full of kerosene for winter blending use.
I'd fill the tractor about half full with #2 that had anti-gell added to it then top off with kerosene.
If the forecast was calling for well below zero I'd go heavier with the kerosene.
It usually worked well for me, I can only recall getting bit 2 times in the last 25 years and one of those wasn't a total stoppage
just started losing power and got her home and added more kerosene and a heat lamp to the filter about 20 minutes and she smoothed out and straightened up.

I have some on hand for a few heaters and my steam genny. BUT, already ten years ago the price for kerosene was just crazy high. A 45 gallon drum, I'm sure would bankrupt me!

Out of curiosity, I tried called the gas station that used to sell bulk Kerosene for a current price. No surprise, just another business that doesn't answer a telephone anymore.

It's not cheap, the last I got was $3.25 last year in the winter,
in the summer it was around $2.90 per gallon
Bulk delivery #2 right now is around $2.60,
service station pump price for #2 is $3.09 a gallon
and I saw some kerosene pumps at $3.90 and you had to go inside and sign the book that it wasn't going to be used in a highway vehicle.

I use offroad, treated with Power Service white bottle in Winter.

I use taxed fuel in my truck, also Winter treated.

In this area I don't trust the supplier to treat my fuel. I do that. No worries.
