That gets my gears turning. I let my kids out alot and dont watch them close, they are kids, let them do kid stuff. (Throw dirt clods, climb trees, have sword fights with sticks) I thought my wife was paranoid. I never considered a dog running up and biting them

Some of the friendliest lap dogs take on an ugly personality when in the company of sometimes just one other dog and in that situation, it should be shot if it appears menacing in any way.

We have three dogs. I have a red healer and a border collie. My wife, who is a 2 time cancer survivor and as of last week possibly facing cancer #3, has a 4 lb chihuahua. The chihuahua is devoted to my wife and gets ugly when she wants to and bosses my healer and border collie around (they ignore her) and nips at the ankles of guests who come into the house, at least until they sit down. Then she jumps into their lap and wants to be snuggled. So you are saying I should take my wifes dog out and shoot her?

I had Rottweiler that I loved to death he was a well trained animal that I had for years.
Then I had a baby daughter and that dog was protective of that babay. Always stayed under her highchair.
He was so protective he got agitated whe I would tease the new baby.
Even a much as I loved that dig I got rid of it not knowing if it woud ever turn on my daughter.
It was a no brainer, Rottweiler can be killers and all dogs can never be trusted as you never know when they will or will not turn

No. Dogs running loose displaying agressive behavior should be shot. Same for a loose dog threatening any of your pets or livestock.

I once had a family friend who is a Judge, come here with a Shepard and chase my cat. I ran into the house for the 12 gauge and would have dispatched it, but it didn't get to that. When it comes to the safety of my pets, I don't care who you are.

Man, this one circled the drain fast. RSKY, thanks for the update. I致e been thinking about her and keeping her in my prayers. Glad to hear she is recovering. That one wound scares me. I知 glad she has an alert mom and is getting good care. Hopefully it heals up soon. After the physical healing, I知 guessing she will need some mental healing. A long time ago I had a life-threatening incident as a child. It really screwed me up mentally. Even to this day there are a couple of things that agitate me pretty quickly. Luckily she has a great, loving and attentive mom. That will help a lot.
Despite all the crap that follows your updates, please keep them coming as appropriate. I am sure there are others who are concerned about her.

The family lives on a farm. They have chicken houses and they have other animals. They have a dog or dogs as pets who usually go with the dad on the farm. I don't know this for sure but I have seen dogs around on some videos they have posted.

Malley seems to be doing well. My oldest grand spent the night there last Friday and said they had a great time. She didn't watch the mom change the dressing but know when it took place. That little girl is one tough cookie.

In that little community this is the second attack in about three years that has led to hospitalization of the victim. The attack in 2016 or 17 involved a 20-21 year old mentally slow man walking down the road when three pit bulls ran out of a yard and attacked him. He nearly died. There was an uproar in the county when the judge was going to GIVE THE DOGS BACK TO THE OWNER. It took just a few days of people lined up at his offices and at his home, and his wife's place of business, and everywhere else he or his family might be for the judge to reverse his decision and have the dogs destroyed. The owner was arguing that the dogs were valuable. The owner has since moved.

I just don't understand the mind set of somebody who would value the life of a dog over that of a child and that is the vibe I get from some people here. It doesn't matter what breed it is. If a dog attacks a human, especially a child, for no reason then it MUST be destroyed.

Agreed.. Problem is we have a breed that acts like wild animals more often than any other.. After the attack is to late to address the problem in a way to stop people from buying more of them..

It's like owning a wild animal that people let loose whenever they feel like it, the people that own them are a problem and so is the breed, between the two we are going to have issues with aggressive dogs like this, we need to do what we can do about the problem ourselves and hope it's not to late and someone gets hurt or killed by aggressive domestic animals ..

Wrong, you should have said gets more PRESS than any other.

All the big breeds have been a target, just in a different decade. GS's, Rotties, Dobermans, Terriers. Ive seen ten times as many ankle biters that owners think is FUNNY, because they are protective and showing teeth.

Just like the mass hysteria we get from the MSM from a nut shooting, but not the everyday numbers of idiots thwarted by law abiding citizens with guns. A mass shooting kills 10-20 people. Chicago alone with their GREAT gun laws lose that many EVERY WEEKEND and no one brings that up.

Also like the number of shootings by cops versus black on black shootings. No one wants the REAL numbers, just what tickles their fancy agenda.

In the thirty minutes or so since I last posted I realized something. The local Sheriff's office busted a meth house about a mile from where the family lives. I would bet that is where the attacking dog came from. On the road you would have to make three turns to get there but in a straight line it might be less than a mile. You can usually spot one of the country meth houses by the traffic, smell, or dozens of pit bulls running around.

Hmmmm?.

Wonder if somebody else thinks the same and just maybe reported suspicious activity.

I've had 2 rescue rotties from California. The odds are impossible but you never know. If yours came through my place, it's lived a full life. Also, for what it's worth, I would have done the same thing if I had a new baby.
